FIRST BIO-GNL REFUELLING IN ITALY.<\/h2>

Today the first refuelling of bio-LNG in Italy took place on an IVECO S-WAY NP.
The bio-LNG is produced in the province of Lodi by the purification and liquefaction of biogas.<\/p>

An important step towards the widespread diffusion of liquefied biomethane<\/h3>

Thanks to the arrival of bio-LNG in the world of transport, it opens the way for the achievement of European goals set for 2030. The refuelling event, streamed from the Vulcangas<\/a> refuelling station in Rimini, was made possible thanks to the contribution and participation of various entrepreneurial entities, all CIB members, who provided the technological solutions: Tecno Project Industriale<\/a> (a company of the SIAD Spa Group) developed the biogas purification unit (upgrading), while SIAD Macchine Impianti<\/a> created the system for the transformation of biomethane from a gaseous state to a liquid state, a fundamental step before it can be distributed. Finally, SIAD Spa<\/a> manages the supply of nitrogen, which is essential in the liquefaction process.<\/p>

Each party, pooling experience and expertise in their specific sector, has worked in synergy, with the shared objective of making possible a project that will give a strong impetus to the decarbonisation of transport, encouraging the transition from an economy based on the use of fossil fuels to a more sustainable one, in line with European policies of the Green Deal.<\/p>

The Councillor for the Environment of the Municipality of Rimini, Ms. Anna Montini and Diego Gavagnin of ConferenzaGNL<\/a> were present at the event.<\/p>

“It is a fundamental moment that sees the realization of what we have been promoting for some time together with companies, institutions and industry associations for the development of sustainable mobility in Italy. We are very proud of this goal achieved thanks to our members: to make liquefied biomethane (Bio-GNL) a reality in Italy. To date there are already 20 projects under construction or already authorized or in the process of authorization. The total production capacity will be from 4 to 27 tons per day, which will make it possible to decarbonize the travels of the more than 3,000 trucks powered by liquid methane currently circulating in our country”.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t
