FER 2 Decree approved by the European Commission
Today, the European Commission gave the green light to the FER2 Decree scheme, aimed at incentivizing the construction of plants from renewable sources that are not fully mature or have high operating costs.
The goal is to reach a capacity of 4.6 GW by 31 December 2028, including off-shore wind, geothermal, biomass, biogas and other innovative technologies.
The decree will now be submitted to the concerted Ministers and subsequently to the Court of Auditors for registration. The Operating Rules will then be issued by decree of the Ministry within thirty days of the publication date.
