Cooperation agreement signed between Assocarta and Consorzio Italiano Biogas

A Memorandum of Understanding MOU was signed this morning in Lucca, on the sidelines of the opening conference of the 30th edition of the MIAC International Paper Industry Exhibition, by Assocarta and CIB-Consorzio Italiano Biogas.

CIB President Piero Gattoni spoke, stressing that: “The synergy between agriculture and industry offers a unique opportunity to promote the widespread use of biomethane as a vector for decarbonisation and diversification of the energy mix by leveraging the excellence already present in the area, preserving its competitiveness. In this sense, the agreement signed today with Assocarta continues the joint work carried out in recent years that has made it possible to initiate and strengthen the relationship between the primary and hard-to-abate sectors. Sectors that were once distant from each other now find in biomethane a key to dialogue that allows them to combine common visions of industrial development. We hope that the collaboration will lead to further strengthening this synergy and enable the introduction of further measures to support the recognition of the environmental value and ecosystem services fostered by the production and use of biomethane.”
