First stage of Farming Days 2025: from Veneto an agroecological transition model that accelerates decarbonisation

The second edition of Farming Days, the tour promoted by CIB – Consorzio Italiano Biogas to tell the story of the Biogasdonewell model through Italian agricultural excellence, kicks off today at the Dominio di Bagnoli farm.

A first stop dedicated to sustainability and innovation in a historic reality in the Bagnoli di Sopra area, capable of combining culture, agriculture, energy and attention to the environment. The Dominio di Bagnoli farm, with its 600 hectares of cultivated land and a 998 kWe biogas plant, open to visits by Farming Days participants, fueled by agricultural by-products, sewage and crop residues, represents a virtuous example of circular economy also at a national level, which will begin work on the conversion to biomethane thanks to investments from the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (PNRR). A plant that contributes to the reduction of emissions and the valorization of local resources, inserted in a production context that pays great attention to animal welfare – as demonstrated by the breeding of French Limousine and Charolaise breeds – and to the quality of the entire supply chain.

The day was enriched with an in-depth study on agricultural machinery for the management of digestate, the by-product of biogas production. A natural resource that allows to reduce the use of chemical fertilizers, improve soil fertility and contain costs for agricultural companies.
